The MEDIABOX device can record camera data through hard disk directly. Video data is input the MEDIABOX in the way of video stream and saved in file format that can be recognized by nonlinear editing systems. This product is constructed with composite AV port and 1394 output which can support cameras with 1394 input like DVSD, DVCam, HDV, DVCpro25 and DVCpro50 and cameras with composite AV output. MEDIABOX supports direct edition on PC when camera is connected and do not have to download the clips which is convenient to change the HD and battery and possesses the function of quake-proof.

With the MEDIABOX, you can:

- Record the video stream on the HD of capture and editing machine through 1394 line or
simulating AV line without a tape; or coordinate with a tape if any and it won’t affect the
recording when changing the tape occasionally.
- The PREBUFFERED option, under CAPTURE, can be used to record the 10 seconds (5
SECONDS for DVCpro50) before the actual shot which can ensure that important dribs
won’t be missed.
- Shoot easily and freely and do not have to worry about the possible date-loss due to heavy
shake.
- Browse the clips on the LCD of MEDIABOX (only limit to DVD/VCAM) and add the
needed clips into the directory.
- Edit local clips in a simple way on MEDIABOX (only limit to DV/DVCAM).
- Support direct edition on PC when camera is connected and do not have to download the
clips.
- Support emergent broadcast.
- Pigeonhole clips quickly.

- Use original camera fully (MEDIABOX supports cameras with 1394 or composite AV port).

Basic Functions:

The function of MEDIABOX including camera, 1394 data capture, AV signal record, audio
record, Edit (only for MEDIABOX-SE and MEDIABOX-EE ), play, direct edition (coordinate
with nonlinear editing systems) as the following description:
- Camera 1394 capture. The camera and MEDIABOX are connected by 1394 cable through which the data on camera is transmitted and saved on the HD. The AV data that is the same as that of tape thus can be recorded on the disk which can be kept as a copy and you can also browse the clips on MEDIABOX. The PREBUFFERED option, under CAPTURE, can be used to record the 10 seconds (5 SECONDS for DVCpro50) before the actual shot which can ensure that important dribs won’t be missed.
- AV signal record. MEDIABOX records AV signals output by camera, TV, DVD and so on through composite AV connection.
- Audio record. MEDIABOX can record quality audio frequency through 1394 or composite AV port, and this application is suitable for dub for clips.
-  Edit. You can cut and edit DVSD/DVCAM clips on the MEDIABOX simply and add them to program list which can be browsed or modified locally. You can also achieve the mixed sound of corresponding sound and dub and create a program file according to directory. (only for MEDIABOX-SE and MEDIABOX-EE)
- Direct edition (with nonlinear editing systems). As MEDIABOX uses HD to record and play the data information of a camera, the data is saved in MEDIABOX in a file format that can be recognized by nonlinear editing systems , and these formats include Matrox AVI、AVI2 etc. You can edit or browse the clips on PC quickly.
- Play. MEDIABOX support playing clips by local LCD and monitor. There are control actions like PLAY, PAUSED, DIR LOOP PLAY, FASTFORWARD/FASTBACKWARD, FRAME FORWARD, FRAME BACKWARD, CLIPS FORWARD/CLIPS BACKWARD on MEDIABOX by which you can browse clips freely and correctly, or mark spot when playing, or add EDL or clips.
- It’s convenient to change battery and HD so that the shoot time can be extended.
- Many quake-proof technologies are adopted to ensure that you can use this machine freely and don’t worry about the data-loss.
